hitmore Farm is a Maryland Organic-Certified farm specializing in heritage breed animals raised on pasture. Our primary goal is preserving and rebuilding the soil and infrastructure of our historic Emmitsburg Maryland farm.
Our goods are available at farmer's markets in Washington, D.C., on-farm sales, and deliveries for restaurants in the DC Metro area. Please feel free to call and schedule a visit to the farm to sample some of our products and to take in the beautiful pastures and scenery.
We encourage you to see the animals we raise and welcome the chance to talk with you about each breed. Currently, we have Katahdin sheep, ...we are members of ALBC and Slow Food USA. Tennessee Fainting Goats, Delaware, Welsumer and other rare breed chickens, Great Pyrenees, and Standard Bronze turkeys. In addition to eggs, meat and a variety of heirloom fruits and vegetables, we also sell breeding stock.
