nterior work involved installing a geothermal HVAC system, rebuilding and reinforcing the interior walls, installing salvaged brick flooring in the kitchen, and custom cabinetry (to mirror the doors on the barn) with a soapstone counter and sink. We reused as much antique wood as we could from the original house, as well as wood stored in the barn. Windows and doors were replaced for better insulation, their design based on existing doors and 9 over 6 windows from early photographs of the house before it was 'center hall colonial'-ized in the mid-1800's(?)
